Spring Semester Begins March 29

This exciting class and performance will focus on your voice as it relates to live vocal production and performance skills including; interpretation of the lyric, phrasing and vocal dynamics, pitch, vocal arrangement, connecting to your audience, key selection, mic technique, stage presence and other significant aspects of professional singing and performing. This class is recommended for singers with a good ear and some singing experience.

Each student will have an opportunity to learn and perform three songs at the end of the semester. The class will also include information on how to promote yourself and your performances including the concert at the end of the semester.

Tammy and I look forward to working with all of you to help you achieve your goals as a singer and performer by providing supportive, constructive feedback and coaching to take your performance and vocals to the next level!

Lynn Asher has and continues to perform with some of the top musicians in the industry including; Big Brother & The Holding Company, Producer/drummer Narada Michael Walden (Aretha, Stevie Wonder), Hall of Fame recipient and founding member of The Talking Heads, Jerry Harrison and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, at some of the most legendary clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area such as The Great American Music Hall, Yoshi’s and Sweetwater. She has recorded lead and background vocals for various artists as well as for radio and film, including vocals for the movie soundtrack, DVD and CD for RENT the hit Broadway musical. Lynn has recorded and released two cd’s, formed and fronted her own bands, provided PR services for musician’s and music venue’s, produced artists for live and studio projects, has been a volunteer performer for Bread & Roses for the past 9 years, and is a voting member of the Recording Academy for the Grammy’s.

Pianist, Organist, Composer, and Arranger Tammy Lynne Hall is one of the most in-demand musicians in the Bay Area. A truly versatile pianist, Tammy Hall can captivate her audience be they lovers of Jazz, Brasilian, or Classical. Her own compositions and arrangements are always crowd pleasers, and her prodigious accompanist skills make her a top choice for such singers as: Rhonda Benin, Frankye Kelly, Darlene Love, Lady Mem'fis, Melba Moore, Kim Nalley, Denise Perrier, Little Jimmy Scott, Linda Tillery and the Cultural, Heritage Choir, Mary Wilson, Voz Do Brazil and the great Etta Jones. Stylistically, Tammy Hall is equally gifted in Classical, Gospel, Jazz, Brazilian, Salsa and Funk. Lynn has an amazing ability to work with singers on vocal performance as well as how to work live with accompanying musicians.
